Christ Succeeds Booth as Woodford GOP Chairman
Bill Christ of Metamora has succeeded Jim Booth as chairman of the Woodford
County Republican Central Committee. GOP spokesman Jim Fyke announced that Booth
resigned his post as county chairman, just prior to the party's steering
committee on Tuesday evening. His resignation was effective immediately.
Christ, who was the elected county vice chairman, assumed the chair immediately
upon the vacancy of the office, under the group's bylaws, and conducted the
regularly scheduled meeting. A new vice chairman will be elected at the October
meeting of the entire Central Committee. Booth will remain a precinct
committeeman from Worth Township.
Christ, a farmer and insurance broker from Metamora, will oversee activities of
the 35 person Central Committee, including the upcoming primary election cycle
and the Lincoln-Reagan Dinner. Bud Malcom of El Paso continues as the party
treasurer and Jim Fyke of Eureka will continue as secretary.
