As a legislator, Brady has worked to increase education accountability and funding. He reformed workers compensation and tort law. He championed insurance and financial reforms that were later used as a national model. He is most noted for legislation guaranteeing health insurance for retired teachers.

Senator Brady and his wife, Nancy, live in Bloomington. They have three children.

Woodford County Republicans chose to honor President Ronald Reagan’s contributions to the Nation and to Woodford County by adding his name to the annual dinner event. President Reagan attended Eureka College and was well known throughout the community in his early days. They are also encouraging other county Republican organizations to do the same.
