Advent Lutheran Church, located in Morton, Illinois, is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). We are members of the Northern Conference of the Central Southern Illinois Synod (CSIS).

2009 MINISTRY GOALS:

The church council continues its work on finalizing and implementing MEANINGFUL target goals for this year:

We are looking for folks to serve on short term work groups in each of these areas:

1). Increase the number of youth involved in our youth programs;

2). Devise a communication strategy targeting both members of the congregation and those outside our church

3). Increase the percentage of Advent members involved in the ministries and activities of the congregation.

Advent Lutheran Church was established in 1966. The original section of the church building, however, was not built until 1968 and today houses our worship area, offices, library, nursery and classrooms. The newest section of the building which contains the Family Life Center, kitchen and additional classrooms was constructed in 2001. We currently enjoy a membership of 148 local households comprising of 416 baptized members (305 confirmed and 111 child members).
